Parish Council
Town and Parish Councils are the first level of local government. They provide communities with a democratic voice and a structure for taking community action. Parish Councils have numerous powers to support residents and carry out local projects. These include the provision of town and village halls, maintenance of public parks, lighting, street signs and war memorials as well as undertaking for planning applications and a neighbourhood plan.
The civil parish of Bierton is represented by a Parish Council. Currently, the council is made up of eight councillors who represent the Bierton ward of the Parish and one councillor who represents the Oldhams Meadow ward of the Parish. The council meet ten times a year for monthly meetings. All parish council meeting dates are listed below.
Meetings are held in the Jubilee Hall and start at 7:00pm. At the beginning of each meeting there is a period reserved for a Public Forum whereby residents of Bierton can raise any concerns or problems for the attention of the Parish Council.
Any matters on which a decision has to be made must be notified to the Clerk at least seven days before the meeting in order for the item to be included on the agenda.
The Agenda will be posted on the website at least three days before the next meeting as well as on noticeboards around the village. Agendas for this year’s meetings can be found below; please just click on the agenda next to the meeting that you wish to view.
Meetings will commence at 7.00pm.
Members of the public are invited to attend.
