Charity Partners

I am pleased to announce that our two charity partners for the first ever Bierton and Broughton Running Festival are Get Kids Going (Charity Reg No.) and Broughton Community Action (Charity Reg No. 1153342)

Get Kids Going are a national charity who give kids and adults, up to the age of 26, the opportunity to participate in sport. They provide them with specially built sports’ wheelchairs to be able to participate in a range of sports. Get Kids Going! inspires British disabled youngsters to compete in sporting events, from start to Paralympic level, by also giving them sports grants to help with their; training, physiotherapy, travel, competition fees, design and development of sports’ equipment.

This all with the aim of supporting budding sports stars for the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo and the 2022 Winter Paralympics in Beijing.

Whilst they are a national charity, Get Kids Going do a huge amount of work at Stoke Mandeville with Team GB.

You can find out more about Get Kids Going! here.

More+ is run by Broughton Community Action, a charity set up in 2013 by Broughton Church with the vision to open a community coffee shop that could serve as a meeting place for local people.

Broughton Community Action raises around 90% of its annual running costs from the sale of coffee and cakes, etc.; although, as a charity, the prices are kept as low as possible to ensure that they are affordable for anyone who wants to use our facilities. The rest of our income is from grants and individual gifts.

Bierton and Broughton are great places to live but there has been a real lack of places where people can meet together. We believe that community isn’t just about where you live, it’s about getting to know the people who live around you and we hope that morewill be a meeting place for people of all ages to do just that.

You can find out more about Broughton Community Action here.
