Sports Centre

Bierton Sports Centre

The Sports Centre was built in 1999 and replaced the old scout hut and football changing rooms formerly on the Recreation Ground. It was decided to retain the Cricket Pavilion as it was a war memorial given to the village after the First World War in 1919. It is currently used for storage of the Bierton Scout Group equipment. It was opened in July 1999 by our then MP, John Bercow.
The centre is used extensively during the week by Bierton Scout Group, whilst also used by many local sports facilities such as short mat bowls, table tennis, karate and football. There is also a cricket net available for use at the back of the Recreation Ground, which is popular during the summer months.
Currently there are two football teams that ground share at the Recreation Ground; Aylesbury FC and Aylesbury Hornets, both of whom currently play in the ADL Division Two.
It is available for children’s parties and other social events, too. Charges vary depending on the type of event, booking time, etc.
